La prensa y la divulgación del conocimiento ilustrado en el virreinato de Nueva España en el siglo XVIII

In this work considers like central subject, the paper that has the press during second half of century XVIII, in Latin America, specifically in the New Spain. In the spreading of the scientific knowledge that were generated mainly in the European continent, and thanks to personages like Jose Antonio de Alzate and Ramirez, who worried about the delay in that was its country, decides to publish its newspapers to transmit the news which they disclose the advance of science, another objective of Alzate was that the people could instruct themselves with a nonformal education, that allowed to reduce the illiteracy. In addition, by means of the press it tries to wake up in the society a national conscience, when remembering his origins, this way it arises the American criollismo, that will play a determining role in the future movements of independence in Latin America.
